Fiqh of Love – Spread the Love with a Toy Drive (July 16-18 & 24-25, 2010)
With the coming of the Holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, Qabeelat Falaah conducted a toy drive as its Charitree endeavor during this seminar. In cooperation with IFSSA, students of Qabeelat Falaah collected and donated toys in an effort to put smiles on the faces of less fortunate Muslim children in the city whose families do not have the ability to buy them Eid gifts. As always, there was a friendly – yet competitive - contest between the brothers and the sisters. The sisters again come out on top exceeding all expectations (shame on you brothers!). Although the brothers tried to make a come-back near the end, their efforts fell short and they were not able to beat our beloved sisters who are known to show excellence, perfection, and dedication in everything they do.
The final results for the toy drive were:
Sisters – 204 items
Brothers – 134 items
Our warmest congratulations to the sisters! You have not let us down and are still undefeated!
As for our brothers, well … good try and better luck next time!
Putting the competition aside, Alhamdulillah as a Qabeelah, we have collected over 338 toys for our brothers and sisters! May Allah reward you all! Inshallah many young Muslim children will be happy and smiling on Eid!
Let’s all ask Allah to accept our deeds and sadaqah, and may He allow us to witness the Holy month of Ramadan yet once again so that we may draw nearer to Him and attain Taqwa, thankfulness, mercy, and forgiveness, ameen.
