Introduction

“Qabeelat Falaah” operates this website (www.falaah.org). It is Qabeelat Falaah’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Qabeelat Falaah collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Qabeelat Falaah’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Qabeelat Falaah’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Qabeelat Falaah may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Qabeelat Falaah also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Qabeelat Falaah’s website choose to interact with Qabeelat Falaah in ways that require Qabeelat Falaah to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Qabeelat Falaah gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who subscribe to our mailing list (“Qabeelat Falaah Mailing List”) at www.falaah.org are asked to provide their name and email address. Those who interact with Qabeelat Falaah – by attending event of alMaghrib seminars in Edmonton held by Qabeelat Falaah – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to pay for and attend these events or seminars. In each case, Qabeelat Falaah collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Qabeelat Falaah. Qabeelat Falaah does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Qabeelat Falaah may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Qabeelat Falaah may monitor the most popular parts of the www.falaah.org site, and Qabeelat Falaah may hold an online survey on www.falaah.org.

Qabeelat Falaah may also collect statistics about the behavior of subscribers to the Qabeelat Falaah Mailing List.  For example, Qabeelat Falaah will track how many of its subscribers read the emails they receive.

Qabeelat Falaah may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Qabeelat Falaah does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Qabeelat Falaah discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its members and affiliated organizations (such as the alMaghrib Institute) that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Qabeelat Falaah’s behalf or to provide services available at Qabeelat Falaah’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those members and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Qabeelat Falaah’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Qabeelat Falaah will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its members and affiliated organizations, as described above, Qabeelat Falaah discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when Qabeelat Falaah believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Qabeelat Falaah, third parties or the public at large.

If you are a registered user of a Qabeelat Falaah mailing list and have supplied your email address, Qabeelat Falaah may occasionally send you an email to tell you about events, upcoming almaghrib seminars in Edmonton, announcements, Islamic reminders, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Qabeelat Falaah and our services. We primarily use our mailing list to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum.  However, we may contact you via other means such as telephone.  Qabeelat Falaah takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Why do you receive emails from Qabeelat Falaah?

If you have received one or more e-mails from us, it means that (a) your email address is on our list of almaghrib students who have attended a seminar in Edmonton or (b) your have subscribed to the Qabeelat Falaah mailing list or  (c) you have provided us your email address so that we could contact you, and/or (d) you have registered for the “Change: The Conference” mailing list (note that this conference was held in Edmonton on Nov. 8, 2008).

How do you stop receiving emails from Qabeelat Falaah?

Every email that your receive is embedded with an simple, automatic way for you to stop receiving email from the Qabeelat Falaah Mailing List your are subscribed to.  Should you not wish to receive any more emails from Qabeelat Falaah, simply follow the instructions at the end of any email you receive.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Qabeelat Falaah uses cookies to help Qabeelat Falaah identify and track visitors, their usage of Qabeelat Falaah website, and their website access preferences.
